Challenge
Cobbles wanted to create a hyper-local social media platform that helped people rediscover their real-world neighborhoods. During and after the pandemic, people had lost connection with their local communities. Cobbles saw an opportunity to bridge online and offline - connecting neighbors with local news, events, businesses and each other.
As an early-stage startup, they needed everything built fast: a name, brand identity, and a fully functional website platform and mobile app that could attract users and investors quickly.
Outcome
We named the brand Cobbles after cobblestones - the bedrock of local streets. The name connects the digital platform to something physical and real, bridging online social networks with actual neighborhoods.
We built a brand identity that felt warm, accessible and community-focused, with custom illustrations bringing local life to the platform. Then we moved straight into building the app and website, working in agile two-week sprints to design the UX and UI, wireframe functionality, and deliver the build in phases.
The visual system worked across the app, website, email newsletters, social media, print, merchandise and investor materials, providing everything Cobbles needed to launch and scale.
Results
The platform helped Cobbles raise $5m in seed funding and attract over 150,000 users in the first three months. The retention rate significantly exceeded industry averages.
